Charolette's box

Project type

hand made box

Date

2023

Designed for a girl named Charlotte, the box serves as a quiet vessel—meant not to define what will be kept inside, but to be ready for it. First items, small belongings, pieces of paper, objects that will one day carry meaning simply because they have lasted.
Rocky Shores Woodworks approached the piece with restraint and intention. The form is simple and balanced, allowing the material to remain present without distraction. Charlotte’s initial was incorporated carefully, not as decoration, but as identity—marking the box as hers alone, while leaving space for growth beyond it.
The keepsake box is not meant to be opened often. It is meant to be returned to slowly, over time. What begins as an empty space becomes fuller through experience, not design. The box doesn’t tell a story yet—it waits for one.
Built once and created specifically for Charlotte, this piece exists as an early marker of care. A reminder that some objects are not made to be used up, but to endure—quietly holding what matters until it’s needed again.
