Paradise Pub

This project was created for Paradise Pub’s new building, with the goal of producing work that would feel integral to the space rather than applied afterward. The intent was not to decorate the pub, but to help define it.
Rocky Shores Woodworks built multiple elements for the interior, including the bar top, tables, and a carved sign bearing the Paradise Pub name and establishment date. Each component was designed to withstand constant use while maintaining a sense of identity specific to the space. Materials were selected and assembled with longevity in mind—meant to age alongside the building and the people who gather inside it.
The carved emblem anchors the work visually, while the furniture itself carries the greater responsibility. These are surfaces meant to be leaned on, talked over, and returned to. The design favors clarity and strength over ornament, allowing the wood and construction to speak through use rather than attention.
This project reflects a belief that the most successful work in public spaces is the kind that disappears into everyday life—becoming familiar, dependable, and inseparable from the place it serves.
Built specifically for Paradise Pub and their new home, this work exists not as a statement piece, but as part of the infrastructure of community.
